The Oscar Nominations are here!!!!

Excuse my quadruple exclamation mark, but as a bona finde award season fiend, I'm a little excited.  This morning Anne Hathaway and Academy president Tom Sherak announced the nominees for the 82nd annual Academy Awards.  Look for my notes below the list.  The so-called "Oscar pundits" haven't weighed in yet (it's 6am in LA), but I'll be sure to update you when they do.

Here are the biggies (click on over to Dave Karger for a more complete list, or the Oscar website itself):

Jason Reitman, Up in the Air

There are some weird surprises there (the Blind Side for best picture?  No one saw that one coming), but also some nice surprises, like Lee Daniels for Precious (who else would have thought to put Mo'Nique in the lead and Mariah Carey as the social worker?  That's pure directorial genius there), and Maggie Gyllenhaal for Crazy Heart (in an affecting turn as a single mother who trusts her heart a little too much, for once), and District 9 for best pic.  I'm also glad Jeremy Renner (Hurt Locker) managed to grab the last best actor slot, though I'm sad Alfred Molina (An Education) didn't sneak into supporting (but over who?  Not sure).

Which nomination are you excited for?  Who got robbed?  Are you as totally psyched as me?
