  1. How is JJ a lead actress, but not Elizabeth Moss? I can see Hendricks being in a supporting role, but Peggy is very much a lead to me.

Generally they do these things in a way that maximizes their chance for nominations, so choosing one person for lead and others for supporting, because they don't think they'll get two lead noms, or something. I'm not sure about the Emmys, but for other awards shows it's the series that picks who's in what category, not the voters. They must have thought Elizabeth Moss had a better shot at supporting...
